For Immediate Release:
Saratoga 150 Selects Saratoga Living Magazine to Publish the 150th Anniversary Commemorative Book and Guide
The Saratoga 150 Committee has announced that Saratoga Living magazine has been selected to publish the official Commemorative Book and Guide for the 150th anniversary of the Saratoga Race Course in 2013. The five-month festival runs from May through September 2013 and includes more than 150 events.
Saratoga Living, which marks its 15th year of publication in 2013, was chosen because of its high production quality, distribution through the tri-state area, strong editorial staff and commitment to local history. The Committee commissioned the commemorative book and guide to highlight the track’s history and publicize the community celebration.
Charles V. Wait, Chairman of the volunteer Saratoga 150 Committee said, “we are pleased to award the responsibility to a successful Saratoga publishing company that has proven its commitment to preserving the vast historical heritage that is a prime feature of our community’s proud, world-renowned reputation encompassing the highest quality thoroughbred racing, mineral springs, architecture, educational and cultural institutions, and a vibrant, old-fashioned downtown.”
Saratoga Living, the Saratoga-Capital Region’s only subscription/newsstand- based magazine, has subscribers in 30 states, Canada and Europe, and is sold at retail outlets in NY, VT and MA.
Saratoga Living’s award-winning writers and photographers include seasoned turf writer Mike Kane, editor and historian Field Horne, chief photographer Lawrence White, and managing editor and journalist Maria Bucciferro. Historical articles using primary research; in-depth stories on the people and sport of racing; and amazing photography are key features of the publication.
The 2013 celebration— “the largest birthday party Saratoga Springs has thrown in the last 150 years!”—involves the entire community, from businesses to non-profit organizations.
Chairman Wait is president and CEO of The Adirondack Trust Company, and Joseph Dalton, former president of the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce, is the executive director of Saratoga 150.
