Five Chances To Wager $15,000 Of Someone Else's Money

Presented by Honorary Chairs Marylou Whitney and John Hendrickson

On August 3, 2013, the date of the first race at Saratoga 150 years ago, Sesquicentennial Honorary Chairs Marylou Whitney and John Hendrickson will present the first prize winner with his or her choice of which horse to direct the $15,000 win wager on, in the $750,000 Whitney Handicap for three-year-olds and up. The long-time racing principals and civic-minded couple are underwriting the $75,000 Saratoga 150 promotion that offers five lucky fans this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The $15,000 wager-choice promotion will be offered each Saturday, thereafter, throughout the remainder of the Saratoga racing meeting that runs through Labor Day. The other designated races are: August 10, the $500,000 Fourstardave Handicap; August 17, the $600,000 Alabama Stakes; August 24, the $1 million Travers Stakes; and August 31, the $750,000 Woodward Stakes.

Each individual will be chosen randomly from a contest entry form that must be completed on the Saratoga150.com website. The contest is presently open for entry. All entries must be made by individuals over twenty-one years of age on the date of the wager, who are permanent, legal residents of one of the fifty United States or the District of Columbia, must be at Saratoga Race Course the day of the wager, and have a Social Security number or Personal Tax ID Number required to fill out certain documents with the contest organizers prior to directing their wager.

By merely directing Saratoga150 to make a wager, the contest winner incurs no initial tax consequences for the $15,000 wager. The wager can only be made on a single horse to win in any legal form at the Race Course. There is no charge for entering the contest, but there will only be one entry per individual allowed, and a maximum of three entries per computer/household. Compliance with the entry rules will be strictly enforced. If the directed wager is a winner, the voucher will be presented to the winning individual for cashing at the Saratoga Race Course IRS window that day.

Contestants must provide their full name, email address and telephone number on the entry form and indicate that they have read and understand the Official Contest Rules. Email addresses, names and telephone numbers submitted for this contest will not be shared or sold.

This brief overview is provided by Saratoga150, but the Official Contest Rules should be reviewed by entrants.

Employees of Saratoga150, The Saratoga Foundation, The Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce, NYRA and their immediate relatives, etc., as outlined in the Official Contest Rules, are not eligible to enter.
